Faculty and staff gathered in the Falcon Hub yesterday afternoon to celebrate the retirement of Ted Godin. After 30 years of exceptional service to the Fitchburg State community, Ted has decided it's time to retire from the OneCard Office.

To celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month, the Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) club and Fitchburg State Choirs collaborated to host a Queer Arts Showcase in the Ellis White Lecture Hall. Artists of any kind were welcome to participate, including but not limited to musicians, visual artists, filmmakers, poets, and actors.

Students in Communications Media Professor Robert Harris' Intro to Film and Video class learn to load and use a 16mm film camera. Intro to Film & Video is the introductory course in the Film & Video sequence where students are exposed to the basics of production and post-production for both digital and photochemical media. Topics include understanding and using visual language, camera operation, understanding the film and video production process, basic editing, production crew structure and interpersonal communication. The campus welcomed Ansilta De Luca from The Washington Center (TWC) to discuss internship opportunities in the nation's capital for Summer and Fall 2026. Fitchburg State University TWC Liasson Economics, History and Political Science Professor Paul Weizer was on hand to answer questions as well.

Career Services and Advising (CSA) gave away free coffee, pumpkin spice doughnuts, and tips to spice up your resume today on the first floor of Hammond Hall.

Last week, the morning of our Homecoming Pep Rally, President Hodge visited English Studies Professor Heather Urbanski's Foundations of Professional Writing course for a Q&A with students. As President Hodge holds a Ph.D. in Rhetoric, Master's degrees in English and Women's Studies, she is uniquely qualified to address students questions and share how she and her executive cabinet handle communications at the university.

Director of Bands & Creative Arts Therapies Program Director, Professor Amy McGlothlin's Jazz Band class worked on a piece the in Conlon Fine Arts building.

Yesterday, President Hodge welcomed alumni and their guests to our annual Alumni Award Brunch. Awardees were; Young Alumni Award - Mary Nankya '23, Alumni Leadership Award - Jennifer M. Curran '86, Alumni Service Award - Jim M. Walsh '75, and  Alumni Achievement Award - George B. James '57, '60 (accepted by Patricia James'58.

Ross St. Parking Lot was transformed for a Carnival to top off our Homecoming Weekend. Homecoming is our annual celebration that brings our entire Falcon community together for an amazing fall weekend - from the Pep Rally to the Tailgate, to the Football Game, and more!

Our Homecoming Weekend continued with the Fitchburg State Football Team  vs. Framingham State at Elliot Field.
