Volunteers Prepare for Winter Commencement

Yesterday, volunteers consisting of faculty, students and staff gathered in the Recreation center in preparation for this afternoon's Commencement Ceremony. After an event run down by Nate Corbett of Capital Planning and Maintenance, and an address from President Donna Hodge, groups of volunteers gathered to learn their assignments and perform a run through. Fitchburg Access Television (FATV) Executive Director Nathan Glenny was also on hand setting up to live stream the event, which can be viewed here. Fitchburg State celebrated its 128th commencement exercises, graduate ceremony, on Thursday, May 16, 2024. The ceremony includes remarks from President Richard S. Lapidus as well as a speech by Master of Science in computer science recipient Ali Raza, the Spring 2024 recipient of the Graduate Student Leadership Award. Fitchburg State University Police Program 6th ROC - Graduation Rehearsal

Lisa Lane McCarty, Director of the Fitchburg State University Police Program, program staff, and the 6th Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course (ROC) held a walk-through for tomorrow morning's Police Program Graduation: 6th ROC -  highlighted with the unveiling of the class video. Expected at the ceremony are President Lapidus, local dignitaries, members of police departments from across Massachusetts, as well as proud family members.

Winter Commencement 2022

Fitchburg State University held the winter ceremony of its 126th commencement exercises at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16 in the university’s Athletics and Recreation Center.

The ceremony included the conferral of graduate and undergraduate degrees. University President Richard S. Lapidus delivered the commencement address.

Also offering remarks were Graduate Student Leadership Award recipient Spencer D. Fuller, who completed a master of science degree in criminal justice, and undergraduate valedictorian Helen “Hallie” Dyer of Westwood, who is completing a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice. Both student speakers were enrolled in the university’s police program.
