The future looks bright in Green and Gold! 🦅✨ We loved hosting our newest flock of Future Falcons at our Admitted Student Future Falcon Day! From deep dives into academic programs to a high-energy reception at the Athletics and Recreation Center, the energy was unmatched. Between a warm welcome from President Donna Hodge and the beat of our incredible Drumline, the ARC was buzzing! Students and families got a true taste of life at Fitchburg State, connecting with departments and student groups across campus. Officially depositing Falcons joined Fitchburg State University President Hodge in ringing our campus bell to symbolize their commitment to Fitchburg State University. Future Falcons joined us at an admitted student open house to see what their life at Fitchburg State could be. The day's program included campus tours, program-specific information sessions and a reception in the Athletics and Recreation Center. After President Donna Hodge welcomed everyone to the reception, with the help of our Drumline, Future Falcons, their families and guests, were able to mingle with a multitude of departments and student groups. The university offers a number of additional visit opportunities, from general tours to specific information sessions geared toward accepted students who are still making their academic decisions. Associate Vice President of Capital Planning and Maintenance hosted an annual Capital Planning and Maintenance Training Breakfast in the Hammond Main Lounge last week during Spring Break. Among other things, the event covered asbestos awareness, hazard communication, and bloodborne pathogens.

This afternoon, the university's Career Services and Advising Center sponsored a Health Sciences career fair in the Hammond Main Lounge. The program was open to all students in all majors, with a focus on positions in; nursing, biology, chemistry, and exercise and sports science.

Director of International Education Nelly Wadsworth, and Assistant Director of Study Abroad Nicole Salerno welcomed this semester's cohort of International students at their orientation in the Hammond Main Lounge. Students took part in some ice-breaker exercises and a panel discussion before a day full of information sessions.

The lure of a free taco at this Tuesday's Career Services and Advising (CSA) Let's Taco 'Bout Your Career Event was irresistible. In this unique way to get students to start thinking about their next steps, in exchange for creating and posting a career goal, students earned a free taco!

On Friday, Dean of the School of Business and Technology Dr. Mahmoud Al-Odeh and Engineering Technology Department faculty welcomed local business partners to the Fitchburg State University Engineering Technology Department's Industry Advisory Board (IAB) meeting. The meeting serves as an opportunity to get local industry leaders and educators together to discuss the university's role in employers human resources needs.
Yesterday, Director of Admissions Tony Trodella welcomed gests to our School Counselor/Partners Program Breakfast in the Hammond Main Lounge. After remarks from President Donna Hodge and Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Success Pamela McCafferty, Student Engagement Dean of Students Timothy St. John. moderated the first of two Student Experience Panels with representatives from our Student Support Services. Yesterday afternoon, Chartwells Dining hosted a Teaching Kitchen session in G-Lobby. Students got to sample, and get recipes, directions, and dorm friendly appliances to make nutritious meals with ingredients available at the Fitchburg State University Falcon Bazaar Food Pantry. The minestrone soup was a big hit!
