Last night, after a dinner and conversation with Fitchburg State athletes, Stanley Cup Champion Shawn Thornton transitioned to Weston Auditorium for the Stanley Cup Champion Shawn Thornton  Fighting His Way to the Top event sponsored by Office of the President, Office of the Provost, Student Affairs, and the School of Business and Technology. The talk was moderated by:  Toivo Kramer ('25), Samuel Rennick ('25), and Trenton Skaggs ('26).

First All Schools Meeting of the Semester

Dr. Jennifer Hanselman, Ph.D., Dean of Business and Technology & Dean of Health and Natural Sciences held the first All Schools meeting of the Fall semester yesterday afternoon in the Hammond Main Hall. Early on the agenda was the introduction of the newest Student Ambassadors for the schools, and a celebratory "champagne" toast to acknowledge all of the grant work, and grants awarded since last year.

Sales Management Course - Guest Speaker

Business Administration students exploring sales management with Associate Professor John Lohmann got a master class in sales techniques Thursday with guest speaker Eric Lipsitt, president of Computrition. Lipsitt’s company works with hospitals to automate food and nutrition services, ensuring patients receive appropriate meals.

Lipsitt - who has known Professor Lohmann since their own college days - discussed the foundational importance of tracking customer relationship management and continued self-assessment. “If you don’t measure it, it doesn’t get done,” Lipsitt said. “You continually have to reassess.”

He also told the students that their educational training would not cease when they completed their degrees. “Learning doesn’t stop when you leave here,” he said. “You’re still going to go to conferences and read books.”
