Krysta López, Director of Student Belonging in our Center for Diversity and Inclusiveness, Assistant Dean for the Office of Student Engagement, and and the Latin American Student Organization (LASO) hosted a Pina Colada event in the Hammond Main Lounge as part of our Hispanic Heritage Month celebration.

Krysta López, Director of Student Belonging in our Center for Diversity and Inclusiveness hosted a Flag Raising Ceremony on the Alumni Quad (between Hammond Hall and Thompson Hall) this afternoon in to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month. Our annual Hispanic Heritage Month celebration of the contributions and influence of the Hispanic and Latinx/a/o community to our history and culture is observed with a series of entertaining and informative events September 15 - October 15.

Center for Diversity and Inclusiveness Director of Student Belonging Krysta Lopez-Acevedo and   Assistant Dean of Student Engagement, Ben Kadamus  hosted a Pride Flag Raising Ceremony on the Alumni Quad (between Hammond Hall and Thompson Hall) this afternoon in observance of Pride Month. The flag will fly for the entire month.

Our Center for Diversity and Inclusiveness and Military and Veteran Services hosted a dynamic Women’s History Month panel honoring women veterans who share their stories of service, leadership, and resilience. Panelists reflected on their military experiences, the challenges they’ve navigated during and after service, and the lasting impact of women in the armed forces. 

 This afternoon, our Center for Diversity and Inclusiveness hosted a Flag Raising Ceremony in the Main Lounge of Hammond Hall to kick off Women's History Month The 2026 Women’s History Month theme is Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future. See the full list of events here. 

Our Center for Diversity and Inclusiveness, along with the Black Student Union (BSU), THE Latin American Student Organization (LASO), and the Alumni and Giving Office  hosted a  an engaging panel this Black History Month featuring Fitchburg State alumni who shared their personal journeys, challenges, and triumphs during and after college. The audience heard inspiring stories, gained valuable insights, and engaged in meaningful conversation as we celebrated resilience, achievement, and community.
