Krysta López, Director of Student Belonging in our Center for Diversity and Inclusiveness, her mother Luz Lopez, and and the Latin American Student Organization (LASO) hosted a Sofrito Workshop in the Hammond Main Lounge as part of our Hispanic Heritage Month celebration.  Attendees got to discover the heart of Hispanic cooking by learning how to make fresh, homemade sofrito. They prepared this flavorful blend of herbs, peppers, garlic, and onions while exploring its cultural significance and the many ways it's used in traditional dishes. Everyone will left with their own homemade sofrito and inspiration to bring authentic flavor to their kitchen.
