It was all about selfies and destressing at the Fitchburg Activities Board (FAB) sponsored Petting Zoo for the second day of Spring Week.

Students in Engineering Technology Professor Soumitra Basu test the strength of wood in his Material Test & Quality Control class. Students are introduced to methods for testing the mechanical and thermal properties of commonly used materials in industry, and the statistical background for quality control.

The Fitchburg Activities Board (FAB) sponsored Barbie themed Spring Week began with Inflatable Ken's Sport Arena. Students got Spring Week T-shirts, tie-dying station, and games to test their skills and strength.

This afternoon Career Services and Advising (CSA) held Seeds of Career Growth on the Quad this afternoon. Students got to hear about all of the great services offered by CSA and get a jump on their spring gardening.

Friday, Lourdes Ramirez, coordinator of field placements, partnerships and recruitment for Fitchburg State’s School of Education welcomed a cohort of local high school students enrolled in The Future Educator Academy program to campus for a day of programming. Students completed a badge focused on topics in education; Peer Mediation and Conflict Resolution Techniques, Activity Facilitation, Financial literacy & Financial Planning, and Working with Students Who are Underserved, Traditionally Marginalized, and Disenfranchised. Lourdes Ramirez, Emily Fournier, Dr. Dustin Halterman, John Lohmann, John Crawley, and  Angele Goss facilitated the instruction.

This afternoon, Dr. Jonathan Harvey, the Missa Brevis St. Joannis de Deo (Little Organ Mass), and the combined choirs of Fitchburg State Concert and Christ Church, performed The Heavens are Telling: The Music of Franz Joseph Haydn at the Christ Church, Fitchburg MA.

Vice President for Institutional Advancement Jeffrey Wolfman introduced Communications Media alum Richard G. Kerris '83, Vice President of Developer Relations, Head of Media and Entertainment, NVIDIA for the first ever Executive in Residence. Richard G. Kerris '83 shared his story in two sessions in Presidents Hall.

Faculty, staff, and local dignitaries gathered in the Hammond Main Lounge yesterday afternoon to celebrate the Presidency of Richard S. Lapidus.

This afternoon, senior nursing students and their faculty held a unconventional way of studying for the NCLEX exam, The exam developed by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN)to test the competency of nursing school graduates in the U.S. and Canada. This Family Feud style battle was played by teams named Pill Passing Posse, Drop IT Like It's Hot,  The Bedpan Bunch, The Congresswomen, Brainless UATS, and the Catheter Cowgirls. Not to be outdone, the nursing faculty had their own team, The Lifesavers, who loss to the overall winners, The Pill Passing Posse.
