We would be remiss if we let National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day pass without a shout out and big THANK YOU to Chief Michael Cloutier and the rest of the Fitchburg State University Police staff.
We are truly lucky to have such a competent, engaged, open and friendly university police department that cultivates a welcoming and approachable atmosphere. Officers who actively engage with the campus community, attending student events, participating in community forums, and maintaining an open-door policy for students, faculty, and staff to discuss concerns or simply chat. They prioritize building relationships through informal interactions, recognizing that trust and rapport are crucial for effective policing. This approach emphasizes that officers are not just law enforcement figures but also valuable resources for the campus community, ready to assist with a range of issues beyond crime prevention.
In case you thought we were exaggerating...
