Students in  Game Design Professor Samuel Tobin's History of Interactive Media & Game course broke into groups and played their different takes on the Royal Game of Ur - a game that was first played in ancient Mesopotamia during the early third millennium BC.

Future Falcon Day - April 5, 2025

Future Falcons joined us at an admitted student open house to see what their life at Fitchburg State could be. The day's program included campus tours, program-specific information sessions and a reception in the Athletics and Recreation Center. After President Donna Hodge welcomed everyone to the reception, Future Falcons, their families and guests, were able to mingle with a multitude of departments and student groups. The university offers a number of additional visit opportunities, from general tours to specific information sessions geared toward accepted students who are still making their academic decisions. Around Campus - Developmental Biology Lab

Students work on a lab exercise in Biology and Chemistry Professor  Dr. Eric Williams' Developmental Biology class in the Antonucci Science Complex. The course examines a detailed survey of developing embryos from the fertilized egg through the various stages leading to the adult organism.

Local Storyteller & Alum - Storytelling and Oral Tradition

English Studies Professor Kisha Tracy welcomed Local Storyteller, Teacher, and Alum Todd Goodwin to her Storytelling and Oral Tradition class this morning. After regaling the class with some harmonica playing, a song, and lighting the imaginary campfire, Mr. Goodwin told stories involving his father's dream car, a 1941 Studebaker.

Greek Life - Alpha Sigma Tau Swing-a-Thon

Alpha Sigma Tau are holding their yearly Swing-a-Thon on the quad, they have been swinging since 8 a.m. yesterday morning, and will continue until 8 p.m.  tonight for a total of 36 hours. They are swinging to raise money for the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network  (RAINN). RAINN helps people who experienced sexual assault get the help they need to support them and give them a voice. Learn more about Alpha Sigma Tau and Greek Life here.

Creative and Common Good Career Fair

First-year students, sophomores, juniors, and seniors were strongly encouraged to attend and take this opportunity to connect with employers looking to hire Fitchburg State students.

English Studies High School Creative Writing Awards

The English Studies Department  held their annual High School Writing Awards and Creative Writing Awards Ceremony this afternoon in Presidents Hall. President Hodge welcomed attendees and spoke of the importance of creative writing as a tool for communication. First place winner, or their designees read their award winning pieces. All top prize and honorable mention writing award winners from area high schools were recognized.  Some of the first place high school winners' writing along with Fitchburg State student writing appear in the latest volume of Route Two literary publication.
