Academy staff, along with PT instructors Dr. Jess Alsup and Dr. Lindsay Parisi of our Exercise Sports Science Program (EXSS), lead the recruits in their morning PT.

Yesterday afternoon, students enrolled in the Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course 6th ROC had their orientation at the McKay Campus School. After a welcome from Sara Levine, Dean, School of Arts and Sciences, Police Program Academy Director Lisa Lane gave an overview of the upcoming police training. Drill Instructors and previous graduates of the Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course currently on the job, were on hand to answer any questions the new class may have.

This Afternoon, Our Women's History Month celebration continued with a Women in Law Enforcement panel discussion in the Falcon Hub. The Criminal Justice Club hosted this panel discussion with four female-identified individuals working in law enforcement: Chief Cara Rossi (Ashland PD), Lt. Alfreda Cromwell (Shirley PD), Mental Health Clinician and Co-Responder Jennifer Previti (Tufts University Police Dept.), and an alumna of Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course 4th ROC. After introductions from Criminal Justice Club Faculty Advisor Kathrine Hazen and Police Program Academy Director Lisa Lane, attendees got to hear about their career paths and unique experiences in a profession that is only 13% female.

Students enrolled in the Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course (ROC) had their third monthly meeting of the semester yesterday afternoon in Weston Auditorium. After an address by Academy Instructor, and Sterling, MA Police Officer, Steve Mucci, Police Program Academy Director Lisa Lane introduced guest speaker Lt. John Czasnowski of the Gardener, MA Police Department. Lt. Czasnowski discussed the Handle with Care North Central / North Quabbin (HWC NC/NQ) Initiative with the students.

This afternoon, the Fitchburg State University Career Services and Advising Center sponsored a Law Enforcement Career Fair, open to anyone interested in careers in law enforcement and policing. First-year students, sophomores, juniors, and seniors, especially those in our Criminal Justice program, were strongly encouraged to attend and take this opportunity to connect with employers looking to hire Fitchburg State students. Fitchburg State University welcomed a delegation from the nation of Moldova to campus this week to demonstrate its groundbreaking police program, whose graduates complete two academic degrees and full municipal police academy training in the span of five years.
University President Richard S. Lapidus, Fitchburg Police Chief Ernest F. Martineau and Fitchburg State Academy Director Lisa Lane McCarty outlined the program for the delegation, including police and education leaders from the Eastern European nation.
