Fitchburg State University Police Program 10th ROC Class Orientation

Fitchburg State University Police Program Academy Director Lisa Lane held orientation for the first year students enrolled in the Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course (10th ROC) yesterday in the Falcon Hub. Director Lane introduced Assistant Professor Michael S. McCutcheon, Academy Instructor Lieutenant Steven Fugere of the Sterling Police, and gave an overview of the program. Members of the Seventh ROC were on hand to help with the orientation.

Fitchburg State University Police Program 6th ROC - Graduation

The 11 members of the 6th Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course (ROC) at Fitchburg State were sworn in as police officers on Friday September 15, 2023 before an audience of family, friends, elected leaders and public safety professionals. All of the graduates of our groundbreaking program have already been hired by police departments across the state. As the executive director of the Municipal Police Training Committee told the assembled graduates, they are poised to be future leaders in their profession. Good luck!

Fitchburg State University Police Program 6th ROC - Graduation Rehearsal

Lisa Lane McCarty, Director of the Fitchburg State University Police Program, program staff, and the 6th Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course (ROC) held a walk-through for tomorrow morning's Police Program Graduation: 6th ROC -  highlighted with the unveiling of the class video. Expected at the ceremony are President Lapidus, local dignitaries, members of police departments from across Massachusetts, as well as proud family members.

Fitchburg State University Police Program ROC 6 - Defensive Training 8

At a last week's “Defensive Training Friday”, the 6th Fitchburg State University Police Program's   Recruit Officer Course (ROC). They learned how to handle the escalation of hand-to-hand confrontation. They have now had over 70 hours of De-escalation/Use of Force training. This Friday is their practical test out where they must demonstrate proficiency in a series of skills in order to pass. Good luck to all the recruits!

Fitchburg State University Police Program ROC 6 - Defensive Training 6

At a recent “Defensive Training Friday”, the 6th Fitchburg State University Police Program's   Recruit Officer Course (ROC) learned Ground Techniques. Featured as the instructors for this block were Officer Angelia Rodrigues (Brookfield PD) and Officer John Francis (North Brookfield PD). Off. Francis is also a graduate of our first ROC.
 
The 6th will have 80+ hours of De-escalation/Use of Force training this summer.

Fitchburg State University Police Program 6th ROC, Working with Persons with Disabilities

Students in the Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course (ROC) had “Working with Persons with Disabilities” this afternoon with (Ret.) Sgt. Tim Grant. Sgt.
