Our Office of Student Development Student Orientation Leaders are on campus preparing for orientation sessions for our newest Falcons, The Class of 2026. This afternoon, Associate Dean for Student Development Dr. Hank Parkinson described, and then refereed a rousing game of OmniKin Ball on our Quad. Fitchburg State students are seeing the world this summer, taking part in faculty-led programs to other continents while earning university credits.

Among the courses and destinations this su

mmer are peace studies in Ireland, communications in Greece, and culture and history courses in Verona, Italy. 

The journeys were made possible through the Global Ambassador and Center for Italian Culture Amelia V. Gallucci-Cirio Scholarship programs, which bring international travel within reach. 

This summer, students will also be traveling

 to Spain to study education, and another group will go to Costa Rica to study tropical ecology. Domestic travel is also on the menu, with members of the game design program traveling to Los Angeles and Hawaii this summer (with a trip to Japan planned for 2023).

Day one of the Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course (ROC) was underway as of this morning. We'd like to thank Natick Police Chief James Hicks for coming out to address the class this morning. Chief Hicks is Chairman of the Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) and also has two Recruits in the class.

Saturday, May 14, 2022 was a perfect day for the 126th Annual Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony at Fitchburg State University. Excitement filled the air as Fitchburg State University's Class of 2022 filled the quad for today's commencement ceremony. Along with the conferral of degrees, there were lots of smiles, cheers, and a few tears as the class of 2022 graduated.
