This afternoon, Student Development held Rock the Block XXIV on Highland Ave & on the Main Quad. Rock the Block gives students a chance to connect with over 150 Clubs, Organizations, Departments and Non-Profits. There are a plethora of activities, including a rock wall, dinner, dunk tank, big chair photos, ice cream truck, club demonstrations, free stuff and so much more!

The Fitchburg State University Great Move In 2022 was capped off with the Falcon Nest BBQ. The new arrivals got to take part in an array of activities, and had one more chance to spend time with family before they left them in their new home.

This morning our athletic teams, staff, University Police, students, and more were spread out between Check-In at the Wallace Civic Center, and the dormitories on the main campus. Lots of smiles here on campus for Day 1 of the Fitchburg State University Fall Semester 2022 Move-in New/Transfer Student Early Arrival. Tomorrow, Day 2, New/Transfer Student Move-in Day, followed by Day 3, Return Student Early Arrival. The last day, Day 4, is Return Student Move-in Day.  Our  Student Development Orientation Leaders are excited to be back to campus and sand preparing for this week's Move In, Orientation, and Welcome Events for our new and returning Falcons. The Fitchburg State University Athletics Women's Volleyball Team is back on campus and held an early morning practice at the volleyball court near the Conlon Fine Arts Center. After choosing teams, and a "high stakes" round of Rock, Paper Scissors to see who served, the team played rounds in the morning sun.

Chief of University Police Michael Cloutier invited our Residents Assistants, and Housing and Residential Services staff, to tour University Police facilities. Along with lunch and meeting the University Police staff, students and staff got to try out equipment, see what it's like to perform a sobriety test with "drunk" goggles, meet Odin, our therapy dog, and so much more!

This morning saw the last session in our Summer Orientation 2022 for Incoming first year students. Our newest Falcons, after registration, began the day with welcome remarks from Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Patricia Marshall, Vice President for Student Affairs Laura Bayless, and Associate Dean for Student Development Hank Parkinson. After introduction of our Orientation Leaders, groups ventured out to the quad for some ice breaker activities, campus tours, and then on  to a day full of information sessions and activities.
