The festivities began with a Classic/Antique Car Show on Highland Ave. followed by campus tours, and then a luncheon & reunion in the Falcon Hub. Rock the Block gives students a chance to connect with over 150 Clubs, Organizations, Departments and Non-Profits. There are a plethora of activities, including a water slide, dinner, dunk tank, ice cream truck, club demonstrations, free stuff and so much more!

The Sustainability Committee, in collaboration with the City of Fitchburg, and in partnership with student organizations, organized a special Earth Day event yesterday afternoon. Partnering with student organizations including Sigma Pi Fraternity, Outdoor Adventure Club, the Biology-Chemistry Club, and the Criminal Justice Club, students, faculty, and staff did their part to clean up and recycle trash on our campus and the surrounding neighborhood.

President Lapidus welcomed Senator John J. Cronin to the Fitchburg State University campus this afternoon. Provost Marshal, Dean Hanselman, and faculty were on hand to discuss the Biology and Chemistry programs. Students in the disciplines gave Senator Cronin a tour of our facilities and talked about their own research, and what a Fitchburg State University has meant to them.

Today, Commissioner of Higher Education Noe Ortega visited the Fitchburg State campus as part of his tour of the state's 29 public colleges and universities. During his visit, Commissioner Ortega had lunch with and listened to students, experienced an immersive classroom simulation with education students, spoke with game design students at the downtown game studio about their projects, experienced a virtual nursing simulation designed by students, and checked out facilities including the strength and conditioning laboratory at Landry Arena.
