This final orientation session gave our newest Falcons, unable to attend previous dates, the opportunity to get schedule information, learn about on-campus opportunities, a chance to connect with faculty, staff and each other, and more. President Donna Hodge, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Patricia Marshall, and Vice President for Student Affairs Laura Bayless welcomed students and their guests this morning in the Hammond Main Lounge. Afterward, our Orientation Leaders lead the students to the quad for some ice breaker activities.

Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Patricia Marshall, and Vice President for Student Affairs Laura Bayless. and Associate Dean for Student Development Michael Kennedy, welcomed transfer students to our Transfer Orientation 2024. After some ice breakers, a day full of activities and information sessions, students and their families met with the Deans in their selected majors.

President Donna Hodge and campus leaders from student services across campus welcomed students and families to our second Falcon Express One-Stop event in the Hammond Hall Main Lounge. The goal of this event is to provide students with all the resources they need to answer any final questions they may have, and allow students to enroll in their academic coursework with no delays! 

Our  Fitchburg State University Admissions Third Annual College Search Kickoff Event, designed for rising Seniors and their families, was capped off with a BBQ and ice cream truck. After information sessions to learn more about Fitchburg State, the college search in general, and campus tours, all were welcome to a BBQ and ice cream truck, and to network with each other and members of the university staff. 

Our  Fitchburg State University Admissions Third Annual College Search Kickoff event is in full swing this morning. It's a perfect day for this event designed for rising Seniors and their families to learn more about not only Fitchburg State, but the college search in general. After checking in, our Guests heard from admission counselors on what we look for in an application; tips on writing an essay; and were able to tour the campus. Afterwards, all will be welcomed to a BBQ and ice cream truck.

As our Summer Bridge Program comes to an end, Mathematics Professor Jarrod Abbott works with students in Edgerly Hall. The campus welcomed representatives from colleges and universities across Massachusetts, and some from New Hampshire, and Rhode Island, today for the the Veterans Certifying Official Conference sponsored by the state Department of Higher Education. Certifying officials on campuses help student veterans get the GI Bill benefits to which they are entitled. Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Patricia Marshall greeted the conference attendees who took part in sessions on topics related to supporting student veterans on campus and helping them complete their academic goals. The third session of our Summer Orientation 2024 continued with an Opportunities & Outcomes session, where both parents and students learned what a Fitchburg State University experience and education offers. After a rousing rendition of the Cotton Eyed Joe - with plenty of audience participation,  Associate Dean for Student Development Michael Kennedy served as moderator for a panel made up of current students and alumni who answered questions about their own experiences and successes as Fitchburg State University Falcons. Orientation Leaders performed skits during "breaks in the action."

Our Summer Orientation 2024 continued with some ice breaker activities for our newest Falcons, and some information sessions for Parents & Families. 

We are excited to welcome our Incoming students  at the third sessions of our Summer Orientation 2024 this morning. After ID photos and some general "housekeeping", our newest Falcons made their way to Weston Auditorium where they received boisterous welcome remarks from Associate Dean for Student Development Michael Kennedy, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Patricia Marshall, and Vice President for Student Affairs Laura Bayless in the Weston Auditorium. After introduction of our Orientation Leaders, groups ventured out to the quad for some ice breaker activities, then to a day full of information sessions and activities.
