Today was a beautiful day for our second Fall Open House. It's an ideal way for perspective students to find out everything they want to know about Fitchburg State University. After a welcome remarks from Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Success Pamela McCafferty and President Donna Hodge, attendees took part in information sessions - where they had the opportunity to meet with faculty, current students, coaches, and staff, and later were able to tour the campus. Before this afternoon's football game, Homecoming Weekend continued  with the Falcons Tailgate at the Wallace Civic Center parking lot. Fans and family alike geared up for the day’s games with their own tailgate cookout. If you stopped by President Hodge’s Tailgate Zone, you got one of President Hodge's, literally, branded Fitch-burgers. Afterward, the festivities moved to Elliot Field where the Falcons football team took on the Framingham State Rams.

As this was also our Homecoming Day, attendees received an All Access Pass to all of our Homecoming events; Tailgate, Football Game, Soccer Game, and our Homecoming carnival. Director of Early College Dual Enrollment, Fernando Garcia-Rodriguez an Assistant Director of Admissions Eliezer Rivera were at Fitchburg High School where they worked with students at the orientation for their Fundamentals of Marketing course taught in Spanish. The purpose of the Early College Initiative is to create and maintain partnerships connecting our state’s districts and high schools with our state’s colleges in order to give thousands of Massachusetts students, especially first-generation college-goers, access to college completion and career success.

It's Orientation Week here at Fitchburg State University, President Hodge took advantage of a class photo session to meet our newest Falcons.

The Fitchburg State University Great Move In 2025 was capped off with a Welcome  BBQ. Our new arrivals got to take part in an array of activities, and had one more chance to spend time with family before they left them in their new home.

It was all hands on deck this morning for the Fitchburg State University Great Move In 2025. Our athletic teams, staff, Clubs, University Police, students, and more were spread out between Check-In at the Wallace Civic Center, and the dormitories on the main campus, all in the effort of making our newest Falcons move in process as smooth as possible. The Great Move In will be  capped off with the Falcon Nest BBQ this afternoon.

Fitchburg State University Police Chief Michael Cloutier and Sgt. Timothy Grant gave a training session about the intricacies of de-escalating various situations to our  Office of Student Development Student Orientation Leaders, and Housing and Residential Services Resident Assistants  in preparation for our upcoming Orientation Sessions where we welcome our newest Falcons. 

Our Office of Student Development Student Orientation Leaders took a break during their week-long training for a bit of friendly competition at the Orientation Leader OL-ympics. 

As part of their week-long training, our Office of Student Development Student Orientation Leaders met with some of our Student Support departments. Members of  TRIO, Counseling Services, Disability Services, Academic Coaching and Tutoring Center (ACT), International Education, and Career Services. were eager to help the OLs  answer any questions from our incoming Falcons.
