After some warm up exercises, students in Theater Professor Kelly Morgan's Voice II class recite an excerpt in a dialect of their choice and are given feedback. This course expands the fundamentals of Voice I that included breath, diction, relaxation, articulation and resonance. This involves work on verse and lyric vocal education with works of Shakespeare, Restoration, Moliere and The Greeks. Techniques gained from these classical structures are applied to various forms of character voice work, dialect and commercial voice-over techniques.

Students in Communications Media Professor Robert Harris' Intro to Film and Video class work on lighting projects. Intro to Film & Video is the introductory course in the Film & Video sequence where students are exposed to the basics of production and post-production for both digital and photochemical media. Topics include understanding and using visual language, camera operation, understanding the film and video production process, basic editing, production crew structure and interpersonal communication. Biology and Chemistry Professor Ronald Krieser gives a lesson in tissue culture in his Genetics Lab in the Antonucci Science Complex. In this course, basic principles of biological information processing are examined including Mendelian inheritance, sex determination, chromosome cytogenetics, linkage, recombination and genetic mapping, mutagenesis, molecular genetics and gene-enzyme relationships, and quantitative inheritance. The conclusion of the Game Design program's annual Fall Game Jam took place Friday afternoon in the Conlon Game Labs. Game Design students, who worked in small teams to make games got together in the game labs, along with faculty, to celebrate their hard work and play their, and each others' games.

Today was a beautiful day for our second Fall Open House. It's an ideal way for perspective students to find out everything they want to know about Fitchburg State University. Afterwards, a guest panel spoke about the film. The panel included Professor Benjamin Railton, Director John de Graaf, and Fitchburg Historical Society Director Susan Navarre.

The Biology, Chemistry, and Earth & Geographic Sciences departments held their annual science symposium Tuesday afternoon at the Lisciotti pavilion in the Antonucci Science Building as part of our S.T.E.M. Week events. This is an event where the science faculty present posters on their research to get students interested and involved in the sciences. The Bio Chem Club was there to celebrate Mole Day, which commemorates Avogadro's number , ( 6.02 × 1023 ) by making moles.
