Celebrating Pride Month - Pride Flag Raising Ceremony

Associate Director of Student DevelopmentCommuter and Volunteer Affairs Shane Franzen, Advisor for our Gay Straight Alliance Organization, hosted a Pride Flag Raising Ceremony on the Alumni Quad (between Hammond Hall and Thompson Hall) this afternoon in observance of Pride Month.. After remarks from Shane, recent Fitchburg State University graduate, and one-time GSA President  Allison Turner, and GSA Treasurer Emily Maestri had the honor of raising the flag.

Study Abroad - Through the Lens: Athens

Communications Media Professor Kevin McCarthy met with students who will be taking part in our Study Abroad opportunity; Rhetoric in Greece and Travelogue Filmmaking which departs campus on June 7th. Today Professor McCarthy discussed media tools, storage, and logging procedures - the planning that needs to happen with travelogue filmmaking.

ALFA 20th Anniversary Celebration

Our Adult Learning in the Fitchburg Area (ALFA) program celebrated it's  20th Anniversary with a celebration in the Falcon Hub. Associate Dean, 
School of Graduate, Online, and Continuing Education Dr. Lisa Moison and University President Dr. Richard Lapidus welcomed guests to the event. The celebration included a lunch buffet with the bluesy folk fusion of five-piece band Tattoo, awards and recognitions followed by a mini-sampling of current ALFA courses led by our community instructors.  performance by Tattoo   There is also a Community Gallery installation at the Fitchburg Art Museum through May 27. ALFA is a lifelong learning institute that serves adult learners in Fitchburg and the surrounding communities.

Eighth Annual Celebration of Faculty and Librarian Excellence
