The Fitchburg Activities Board (FAB) sponsored last day of class activities in the G-Lobby of Hammond Hall. Students were treated to a nacho/tater tot bar and various stress relieving activities - with slime making being the most popular. One student was heard to say, "I am totally playing with this slime during my final."

Students got a chance to unwind last night, on the eve of the last day of class, at the Fitchburg Activities Board (FAB) sponsored ChristmasHanukkahKwanzaKings (Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Three Kings) event. Various student groups were on hand to spread holiday cheer with holiday themed crafts, the wildly popular stuff-a-plush, and much more. Meanwhile, members of the administration passed hors d'oeuvres festooned in holiday garb.

Yesterday afternoon, students got a little break from classes, tests and projects by spending a little time with Moka, and Penny in the Hammond Maine Lounge, These therapy dogs were a welcome respite from the stress of finals season.

Students in Edward Troxler's guitar course used today's class session to hold a final performance in the Conlon Fine Arts building. Students performed individual, duet, and ensemble selections. In this class, students learned the fundamentals of guitar playing including basic chords, scales, arpeggios and techniques for playing a variety of musical styles. Edward Troxler operates Eddy's Music located in Fitchburg, MA.

Students in Biology and Chemistry Professor Billy Samulak's General Chemistry Lab try to figure out, with the help of a digital melting point apparatus, whether or not they successfully made aspirin in an earlier lab. The course explores the fundamental laws and theories of chemistry such as atomic structure, the periodic table, electrochemistry, descriptive inorganic chemistry, the gas laws, solutions, equilibrium calculations and chemical bonding. Chemical calculations are emphasized.

Students from English Studies Professor Kisha Tracy's The Global Middle Ages course presented posters focusing on their research work as "medievalist for a semester" in the Amelia V. Gallucci-Cirio Library. Additionally, medieval-themed zines from Dr. Tracy's British Literature I: Adventure and Transformation were on display. The work will remain on display through Friday, December 20th, stop by and vote for your favorite - a Viewer's Choice Award will be presented at the end of the exhibit.

This morning, students enrolled in the Fitchburg High School Honors Academy visited campus to learn about the Fitchburg State University Honors Program from Honors Coordinator Biology and Chemistry Professor Dr. Emma Downs, and students currently enrolled in the program. Director of Early College and Dual Enrollment Fernando Garcia-Rodriguez was on hand to answer general questions about the university. After the information and Q&A session, students took tours of the campus, learned about writing research papers, visited the Global Middle Ages Literature Fair, and enjoyed lunch in the dining commons.

The University recently hosted the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce'sCommunity Leadership Institute Class of 2025 in the Hammond Main Lounge. President Donna Hodge, along with Nicole Conroy of My Turn Inc., and Thomas Browne of Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School spoke to the class about challenges facing the region through the lens of education.

Yesterday afternoon our Veteran Center hosted a Veteran Student Meet and Greet event. This gave our veteran students the opportunity to gather for coffee, a snack & camaraderie. In addition, these students had the chance to discuss the unique concerns of veteran students with university staff.
