Last week, Freddy Falcon was on the quad handing out cookies and swag to remind everyone of tomorrow's President Donna Hodge's Investiture and Installation Ceremony. The Fitchburg State University community and beyond will be celebrating the investiture of Dr. Donna M. Hodge as the 12th President of Fitchburg State University. This formal ceremony will mark the official installation of President Hodge into her role as the university's chief executive officer. #FitchburgStateHodgeEra

Yesterday, Visions, a juried honors exhibit of the Communications Media Department, held its annual reception and Gallery Opening in the Hammond Hall Gallery. A Film & Video Screening in Weston Auditorium took place later in the evening. Thank you to the alumni, jurors, Communications Media faculty, students, and staff. The Exhibit will run until August 1, 2025.

Faculty & staff members took full advantage of the warm spring afternoon, and the volleyball court by the Conlon Arts Building, for a pick-up match.

Yesterday afternoon, Communications Media Professors J.J. Sylvia IV and Kyle Moody moderated the inaugural Digital Media Innovation (DMI) Expo in Percival Hall. The event gave prospective and current students the opportunity to learn about the program and to meet faculty and students in DMI.

Recently. our nursing students worked through a pediatric patient scenario in our Nursing Simulation Laboratory. Senior nursing student Haley Tulip played the role of the concerned mother.

Economics, History and Political Science Professor Paul Weizer introduced student Carolina Dykes and Earth and Geographic Sciences Professor Jane Huang introduced Ethan Chaco and Madison Ambrogi at last week's  Board of Trustees meeting in the Hammond Hall Main Lounge. Dykes discussed her casework at Moot Court, while Chaco and Ambrogi discussed their Helping Bridge the Digital Divide project. The talks gave the Board of Trustees a chance to see the scholarly work of our students.

Yesterday the university held our annual Undergraduate Conference for Research and Creative Practice in Hammond Hall. The conference is a public forum to enhance student's  skills, to share their work, to see the work of others in their field, and to give and receive valuable feedback. The conference was free to attend and open to the public. We're proud of the work our undergraduate community does -  from the opening performance of Creative Arts Therapies major  Autumn Hughes, attendees had the opportunity to observe lightning talks, oral & poster presentations, panel discussions, ARTeries exhibit, and more! Yesterday afternoon, we capped off a day of celebrating our student's scholarly achievements at the Undergraduate Conference for Research and Creative Practice event with our Scholarship Awards Ceremony. An event where our community gathered to recognize students who have distinguished themselves in their pursuit of academic excellence.
