We commemorate and encourage the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in history and our society. This week, the Sigma Pi fraternity is running a week-long canned food drive to help support the Falcon Bazaar. Professor Jonathan Harvey in the Fitchburg State University Alma Mater, accompanied by the Fitchburg State University Chamber Choir. Yesterday afternoon, the always popular therapy dogs paid a visit to campus. Students got a little break from classes, tests and projects by spending a little time with Daisy, Mischief, Penny, and Fitchburg State University Police's own Odin in the Hammond Main Lounge. Our Nursing Simulation Laboratory assists nursing students in learning critical thinking and clinical judgment skills in preparation for their healthcare careers. The “manikins” act as lifelike patient simulators, wherein instructors provide real-time feedback via a control center, giving students as close to a hospital scenario as possible. The Fitchburg State University Young Falcons Academy Week kicked off today. Our Young Falcons Academy gives students from Fitchburg and Leominster public middle schools an opportunity to see what life as a college student is like. Today, after a tour of the campus, groups had various opportunities throughout the day. Some chose to learn about DNA mapping with Professor Erin Rehrig, others got to try their hands at making shadow puppets with Professors Sally Moore and Andrea Olmstead. These were just part of a busy day full of activities.

Commuters stopped by the G-lobby in Hammond Hall to grab a waffle or two and to learn more about the 200 scholarships, worth over $250,000. that are available.
