Our Women's HERstory Month kicked off this afternoon with an Opening Reception in the G lobby of Hammond Hall where the names of the 12 Women Who Impacted Fitchburg State through the years were unveiled. There was a special performance by the Fitchburg State Choir, led by Jonathan Harvey, DMA. The 12 Women who were recognized at this event were, Alice Palmer, Amelia Gallucci Cirio ‘38, Beverly Farias ‘52, Class of 1897, Gertrude E. Bradt, Helen Ross Russell, Jeanne Antonucci ‘73, ‘78, Jennifer Flanagan ‘04, Michele Zide, Ruth Jefts 1897, Susan Wadsworth, and the ToKalon Society. Hello! I would like to say first and foremost that it's a pleasure to be able to document and share my experiences abroad with the Fitchburg State community!

My name is Jordan Malachi, currently a junior Communications Media Film/Video student. Throughout these posts I am documenting my sophomore year of college spent studying abroad at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.

As a Communications Media student, I always kept internship on my mind from the get-go. The Internship Program serves as a capstone experience for all Communications Media students. Required for graduation, the 12-credit program typically takes place during a student’s final semester. Students first undergo a portfolio defense process, presenting work which best exhibits their respective talents and interests.
