Students volunteering for this semester's Alternative Spring Break (ASB) sold candygrams in Hammond Hall yesterday to fund their trip. ASB is a long-standing tradition of traveling on spring break to assist Habitat for Humanity with the construction of houses for people in need. Alum Jim Geary ’78, a software entrepreneur with over 25 years as a CEO, Chairman, and Board Member in startup and growth stage companies focused on cybersecurity, enterprise information and data analytics. Spoke in Professor Nadimpalli Mahadev's Ethical Hacking and Software Engineering classes, stressing the boundless opportunities they will have with a Fitchburg State University education.
Afterward, the Office of Alumni and Development hosted a luncheon for Mr. Geary, students, faculty, and staff.

Yesterday afternoon, there was an artist talk and reception at the gallery featuring New England Wax members Trina Abbott and Pamela Dorris DeJong. New England Wax is a lively and growing professional organization connecting artists in the six New England states who work with encaustic and other wax-based mediums. “Chroma," part of the Fitchburg State University CenterStage arts and culture series, will be at the Hammond Hall Art Gallery through March 3rd.

This afternoon, students got a little break from classes, tests and projects this afternoon by spending a little time with Daisy, Moka, Penny, and Fitchburg State University Police's own Odin in the Hammond Main Lounge.
