Campus Wide Career Fair

Yesterday afternoon, the Fitchburg State University Career Services and Advising Center sponsored a Campus Wide Career Fair in the Athletics and Recreation Center. This fair, with over 50 local businesses in attendance, was for students from all majors and all class years. Women's History Month - Spring Break Book Club

Earlier this week, as part of Women's History Month, members of the Fitchburg State University community gathered to discuss the four most remembered and acclaimed of Maya Angelou's poems "Phenomenal Women", "Still I Rise", "Weekend Glory", and "Our Grandmothers". These poems celebrate women with a majesty that has inspired and touched the hearts of millions.

Around Campus - Staff Appreciation

President Lapidus joined staff this morning at the North Street Bistro for the first of three Staff Appreciation events, also held simultaneously at the McKay Café. Staff were treated to a beverage, and a snack, with their tickets entered into a prize raffle. The other appreciation dates are, April 12, and May 4, 2023.

Women's HERstory Month Kick Off - Their Stories, Our Stories

Our Annual Women's HERstory Month kicked off this afternoon with an Opening Reception in the G lobby of Hammond Hall. We commemorate and encourage the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in history and our society. Around Campus - Therapy Dogs in Hammond Main Lounge

This afternoon, students got a little break from classes, tests and projects this afternoon by spending a little time with Daisy, Moka, Penny, and  Fitchburg State University Police's own Odin in the Hammond Main Lounge. These therapy dogs were a welcome respite from the stress that comes as the semester begins. Keep your eyes on University Events for future visits.

Fitchburg State University Performing Arts Center - Legislative Luncheon

Earlier today, Fitchburg State University President Richard S. Lapidus welcomed legislators and honored guests to outline the plans for the Fitchburg State University Performing Arts Center as an economic driver for the North Central Massachusetts area. After welcoming remarks from President Lapidus, Senator John Cronin, Representative Michael Kushmerek, and Fitchburg Mayor Stephen DiNatale addressed the guests.  After outlining the benefits of the Performing Arts Center to downtown Fitchburg, President Lapidus welcomed President & CEO, North Central MA Chamber of Commerce Mr. Roy Nascimento to illustrate the benefits to the region as a whole. Attendees were then invited to tour the former Fitchburg Theater - the proposed location for Phase 3 of the project.
