Alum Visits Communicating Project Design Class

Communications Media Alum and Lead Product Designer and Partner at Full Nelsen, Austin Soares '14, Interactive Media & Graphic Design, visited Professor Randy Howe's Communicating Product Design course to critique two student groups who presented on revamping websites and logos designs for Boston bases businesses. This group - the Dough-minators presented their updates for Bova's Bakery in the North End.

Theater Professor Ellen (Cap) Corduan discuses the intricacies of stage design in relationship to an actors physical process in her Theatrical Design Skills course. This is a lecture/laboratory course presenting basic problem solving skills in scenic and costume craft covering terminology and processes of stage production including integration of design elements/materials, basic drafting, stage carpentry, rigging, equipment use and shop safety.

Visions 2025 - Reception & Gallery Opening

Yesterday, Visions, a juried honors exhibit of the Communications Media Department, held its annual reception and Gallery Opening in the Hammond Hall Gallery. A Film & Video Screening in Weston Auditorium took place later in the evening. Thank you to the alumni, jurors, Communications Media faculty, students, and staff. The Exhibit will run until August 1, 2025.

Around Campus - Film Styles Genres & Movements Class

Students in Communications Media Professor Robert Harris' Film Styles Genres & Movements class work on various projects in the Conlon building. This course blends theoretical and historical concepts associated with a selected genre, style or movement within a production course setting. Students study a selected genre, style or movement, and then, in groups, will write and produce a short film or digital video, based within the historical and/or theoretical framework that the class has studied.
