Fitchburg State University Alumni from the classes of 1972 and earlier were invited back to campus for their induction into the Gold Key Society as part of Homecoming Weekend. This annual ceremony is held to recognize the collective achievements of all those in the society and to induct the 50th reunion class. Alumni from earlier class years who had not yet received their Gold Key were welcome to receive it at this year's event.

Last night we kicked off our Homecoming and Reunion Weekend with a Pep rally, Bonfire, and Carnival in a transformed Ross St. Parking Lot. Homecoming is our annual celebration that brings our entire Falcon community together for an amazing fall weekend and the opening night was amazing, we celebrated our athletic teams, and everyone enjoyed rides, games, food and more!

As part of the university's observation of LGBTQ+ History Month. GSA and the Center for Diversity and Inclusiveness (CDI) are giving out Pronoun Pins for International Pronoun Day as a way to celebrate yourself and to educate the university community on how to use one’s pronouns.

The brothers of Sigma Pi set up for their Sleepout for the Homeless event in the quad, where they will be spending the night in a bivouac shelter made of boxes. They will be selling refreshments, all proceeds go to supporting North Star Family Services until noon tomorrow, so stop by!

Commuter and Volunteer Affairs and Advisor, Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) and Provost, Dr. Patricia Marshall, welcomed attendees to the first ever LGBTQ+ Flag Presentation and Poetry Readings in the Falcon Hub in honor of
LGBTQ+ History Month. GSA Officers Allison Turner (President), Matt Messina (Secretary), and Emily Maestri (Treasurer), were among the poem readers. The Presentation of Flags was led by Shane, along with; Laura Bayless, Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Hank Parkinson, Dean of Students, Joe Flannagan, Case Manager for Student Affairs, Cheyenne Bryan, Coordinator of Greek Life and Programming, and Andrew Klein, Director of Community Standards. Dr. Jonathan Harvey and the Fitchburg State Choir for a very special presentation of “True Colors.” Followed by Professor Dr. DeMisty Bellinger-Delfeld recitation of her poem, "Orlando."

This afternoon, Student Development held Rock the Block XXIV on Highland Ave & on the Main Quad. Rock the Block gives students a chance to connect with over 150 Clubs, Organizations, Departments and Non-Profits. There are a plethora of activities, including a rock wall, dinner, dunk tank, big chair photos, ice cream truck, club demonstrations, free stuff and so much more!
