Our 8th  Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course (ROC) began week two, as they begin just about every day, with physical training (PT) this morning at Elliot Field. PT instructors Dr. Jess Alsup and Dr. Lindsay Parisi of our Exercise Sports Science Program (EXSS) led the recruits in their exercise session.

Our Center for Teaching and Learning's Summer Institute 2025 began today. This years session will focus on field-tested strategies, tools, and techniques through which instructors can use pedagogy and assessment to increase student engagement. The institute offers a specific look at first-year students, as research shows early approaches have lasting effects. The institute is designed for teachers and librarians interested in exploring diverse methods of engaging students through collaborative and inclusive practices.

Last week, our Office of International Education honored Fitchburg State University students who took advantage of our Study Abroad Program. Students were honored for, and shared their life changing experiences and received medals to wear during our  Undergraduate Commencement ceremony. Faculty, staff, and families were also acknowledged for their contributions.

President Donna Hodge met with the Staff Instructors and Fitchburg State University Police Program Academy Director Ola Wysocki  before giving some words of encouragement to members of the  8th Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course (ROC) ay Landry Arena this morning at the onset of the program.

Fitchburg State University just wrapped up its 129th Undergraduate Commencement exercises on the main quadrangle. After reflections from from President Donna Hodge, inspiring words from internationally renowned author, illustrator, entrepreneur and Fitchburg State University alumnus Peter H. Reynolds, and Robert V. and Jeanne S. Antonucci Leadership Award winner Alexia Perez-Lucas '25, eager graduates received their degrees. Students in English Studies Professor Kisha Tracy's Honors Literature Seminar welcomed students from the Fitchburg High School Honors Academy for their presentations of their Afro/Africanfuturism workshop in the Ellis White Lecture Hall.

Communications Media Department Chair Jeff Warmouth welcomed students, faculty, and families to the Randall Lecture Hall where all were gathered to watch  the students from the Spring 2025 Game Studio showcase their games, discuss their development process and answer audience questions.
