Members of the Fitchburg State University Class of 2022 gathered in the Falcon Hub for Senior Brunch. They heard from Vice President for Student Affairs Laura Bayless, and Director of Alumni and Family Relations, Tanya Hoos Crowley as they will soon be a member of the 49,000 strong Fitchburg State alumni. It gave the seniors one last chance to gather, plan for the future, get some photos, and take part in the senior toast.

Our Center for Diversity and Inclusiveness wrapped up their Finals Grab and Go week to support students during finals today. It was six days with opportunities to grab a treat and relax in the office, and take a break from finals. Yesterday was Tropical Freeze Pops, and today was a Popcorn Bar with sweet & savory topping options.

Seniors got to grab a bite and blow off some steam at today's Senior Frenzy BBQ. There were plenty of activities to keep them busy after a long week of finals.
As part of the Senior Frenzy for finals week, seniors got an opportunity to take a bit of a break during finals week - grab a snack, and take their minds off testing with some relaxation-centric activities; kinetic sand, funky stress balls, coloring books, etc..

A newly expanded partnership between Fitchburg State University and the Fitchburg Public Schools is designed to increase the number of teacher candidates who are representative of the local community demographics, with a mixture of scholarship and experiential support and guaranteed jobs with the school district following completion of their college degrees.
Fitchburg State President Richard S. Lapidus and Fitchburg Public Schools Superintendent Robert M. Jokela signed the new memorandum of agreement for the pathway program on Thursday, May 5.
“Since our founding in 1894, Fitchburg State has been supporting our communities by preparing highly qualified educators for schools in Massachusetts and beyond,” President Lapidus said. “This partnership builds on that history, supporting the evolving needs of our communities while creating singular opportunities for Fitchburg State students.”

Students in Professor Robert Harris' Film Styles Genres & Movements course put the final touches on the 16mm film. The course blends theoretical and historical concepts associated with a selected genre, style or movement within a production course setting. Students study a selected genre, style or movement, and then, in groups, produce a short film or digital video, based within the historical and/or theoretical framework that the class has studied.
