Not to be outdone by Sigma Alpha Tau, both Sigma Sigma Sigma and Sigma Tau Gamma held their own annual fundraisers on the quad. Tri Sigma held their 36 hour Teeter Totter A-Thon for March of Dimes and the Robbie Page Memorial Fund, while Sigma Tau Gamma had their Dunk Tank fundraiser - on a chilly spring day!

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) sponsored today's Co-Talks in the Park with Dr. Danette Day, Associate Professor of Education at Fitchburg State University and Mr. David Thibault Munoz of Mount Wachusett Community College who talked about Education as a Means to Freedom in the Abolitionist Park, where you will find open air, open minds and open hearts. The CTL is sponsoring two more of these talks, April 20, 12:30 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. and April 25, 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

The Engineering Technology Department's Engineering Students' Project Competition was held in the Conlon Engineering Technology Lobby. Alpha Sigma Tau is holding their yearly Swing-a-Thon fundraiser on the quad, they will be swinging until 8 p.m. tonight for a total of 36 hours. They are swinging to raise money for the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN). RAINN helps people who experienced sexual assault get the help they need to support them and give them a voice. The Future Educator Academy at Fitchburg State University welcomed more than 20 local high school students to campus today for a day of programming. After a presentation by Lourdes Ramirez of our School of Education, Freshmen and Seniors worked with Dr. Erin Rehig of our School of Health and Natural Sciences, while Sophomores and Juniors learned about financial literacy from Dr. Michael Greenwood of our School of Business.

Future Falcons joined us at an admitted student open house to see what their life at Fitchburg State could be. The admitted students were able to attend information sessions and get an in depth look at their academic department, talk with current students, have financial aid questions answered, and more. The morning was capped off with the Future Falcon Day Celebration at our Recreation Center. After a welcome from President Richard Lapidus, Future Falcons, their families and guests, were able to mingle with a multitude of departments and student groups.
