State Senator Cronin Visits Campus

President Lapidus welcomed Senator John J. Cronin to the Fitchburg State University campus this afternoon. Provost Marshal, Dean Hanselman, and faculty  were on hand to discuss the Biology and Chemistry programs. Students in the disciplines gave Senator Cronin a tour of our facilities and talked about their own research, and what a Fitchburg State University has meant to them.

Undergraduate Research Conference 2023

This morning, the university held our annual Undergraduate Conference for Research and Creative Practice which was held in person this year, the first since 2019, in Hammond Hall. The conference is a public forum to enhance student's  skills, to share their work, to see the work of others in their field, and to give and receive valuable feedback. The conference was free to attend and open to the public. We're proud of the work our undergraduate community does -  from the opening performance of the Fitchburg State University Choir, to the outstanding research, presentations, creative writing readings, and more, to the closing performance of the Fitchburg State Modern Jazz band at lunch.

Young Falcons Academy Week - Alma Mater in Weston Auditorium with Chamber Choir

Yesterday afternoon, during our Young Falcons Academy week, where students from Fitchburg and Leominster public middle schools partake in a week full of activities on campus, the Young Falcons were lead by Asst. Professor Jonathan Harvey in the Fitchburg State University Alma Mater, accompanied by the Fitchburg State University Chamber Choir.

Greek Life - Sigma Sigma Sigma Teeter Totter-A-Thon

Recently, Sigma Sigma Sigma were on the quad for their annual Teeter Totter-AS-Thon. The sisters teeter-tottered for 36 hours to raise money for the March of Dimes and The Robbie Page Memorial Fund. Learn more about Greek Life here.

Center for Faculty Scholarship - Faculty Book Talk

Recently, the Center for Faculty Scholarship hosted a celebration of recent faculty-authored publications in Miller Oval. The event celebrated six faculty members who recently published books, and one who released an album. Each faculty member  briefly discussed their work, with time for Q+A and discussion before the reception to honor them and their accomplishments

Young Falcons Academy Week - Days 1 & 2

It's been a busy two days, so far, for our Young Falcons Academy week, where students from Fitchburg and Leominster public middle schools partake in a week full of activities on campus. Yesterday and today, the Young Falcons met with current students to find out what college life was really like, make shadow puppets in Conlon Fine Arts with Professors Sally Moore and Andrea Olmstead, learn about therapy dogs meeting a Fitchburg State favorite Daisy the Therapy Dog, just to name a few.

Falcon Football - Be The Match Challenge

Members of the Fitchburg State Falcons Football Team are on the quad today as part of their Be The Match Swab Event. Every three minutes, someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer like leukemia. For patients with blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma and other life-threatening diseases, a cure exists. Be The Match® is a community of donors, volunteers, health care professionals and researchers who deliver cures by helping patients get the life-saving marrow transplant they need. The team is asking fellow Falcons to help save a life, Be The Match!
