Our Office of Student Development Student Orientation Leaders, who are on campus preparing for orientation sessions for our newest Falcons, The Class of 2027, gathered in front of Hammond Hall for a tour of Fitchburg, MA this afternoon with Associate Director of Student Development, Commuter and Volunteer Affairs Shane Franzen acting as Tour Guide. The trip included many points of interest including the Fitchburg Abolitionist Park, Fitchburg Art Museum, Cogshall Park, and Rollstone Hill Quarries. Other points of interest like shopping, restaurants, and local landmarks were pointed out during the drive. The tour was capped of with ice cream at Country Pizza.

More than a week into the program, and the Physical Training (PT) for the 6th Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course (ROC) continued this morning. Academy staff, along with PT instructors Dr. Jess Alsup and Dr. Lindsay Parisi of our Exercise Sports Science Program (EXSS), lead the recruits in their morning PT.

At the culmination of today's Faculty and Librarian Research Symposium, the Celebration for Faculty and Librarian Excellence was held in the Holmes Dining Complex. As the faculty wrapped up their sessions, Emeriti Faculty were welcomed to reconnect prior to the event.
LAST WEEK, Lourdes Ramirez, Coordinator of Field placements, Partnerships and Recruitment for Fitchburg State’s School of Education welcomed a cohort of local high school students enrolled in The Future Educator Academy program to campus for a day of programming. Sessions included Career planning, College 101, Financial Literacy, and Mental Wellness in the Classroom.
