Yesterday afternoon, the campus community joined our active military and veteran students for a moment to acknowledge the service given by so many men and women of the armed forces. At the event, alumnus Theodore "Ted" Thompson Jr. '66, a member of the Esoteric Society was honored, 1st Lt. Thompson was killed in action in 1968 during his service in Vietnam.
After senior Julia Ciccolini sang the national anthem, Professor Sean C. Goodlett welcomed President Donna Hodge, veteran student Andres Crespo, and 1st Lt. Thompson's sister Carol Cioffari to the podium for remarks.
After a rededication of a university bench and plaque in Lt. Thompson's honor, guests were invited to our Veteran Center to view a scrapbook celebrating Lt. Thompson, as well as enjoy some refreshments and each other's company.
