Around Campus - Directing the Play

Theater Professor Kelly Morgan broke students in his Directing the Play course into groups of actors and directors. Each were given a scene and strategy which they then workshopped in Weston Auditorium. Directing the Play is an introduction to the professional stage director. Students will study the work of great directors. They will stage short productions for the class. Students will learn to analyze and develop their scene work. Students will attend performances of productions on and off campus and actively analyze them in class.

Around Campus - Human Anatomy & Physiology Lab

Students in Biology and Chemistry Professor Daniel Welsh's Human Anatomy & Physiology 1 course examine the skeletal system in their lab. The course provides a detailed examination of the structure and function of the human body on the cellular, tissue, and organ system levels. Cellular metabolism, histology, and the skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine systems and special senses are examined.

Fall Open House, Saturday, October 28, 2023

Today was a beautiful day for our second Fall Open House. Potential students, and Freddy Falcon, checked in and had the opportunity to meet with faculty and students from all of our programs. After Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Patricia Marshall got her hands on the T-Shirt "gun," President Lapidus welcomed all in a packed Weston Auditorium.

Music Faculty Recital

Music Program - Music Mega Mix

Fitchburg State University’s instrumental and choral ensembles performed a joint concert last evening in Weston Auditorium. The concert program served as  a showcase of “bite-sized” performances by the university’s choirs, bands and orchestra. Technical Theater - Fall Production Set Building

Students assist Technical Theater Professor Jo Nazro with creating the set for the Theater Programs production of the live radio play of the holiday classic "It's a Wonderful Life." The Frank Capra classic will be presented as a live radio broadcast in front of a studio audience, with actors performing as dozens of characters and creating sound effects. Learn more about our Theater Concentration here

S.T.E.M. Week - Faculty Research Symposium

The BiologyChemistry, and Earth & Geographic Sciences departments held their annual science symposium Tuesday afternoon at the Lisciotti pavilion in the Antonucci Science Building as part of our S.T.E.M. Week events. This is an event where the science faculty present posters on their research to get students interested and involved in the sciences.
