If you drove down Highland Ave. this morning, your eyes weren't deceiving you, there were indeed alpaca on the quad courtesy of Commuter Affairs. Students got the opportunity to stretch and center themselves, through yoga, in the company of four alpaca from In the Meadow Farm, Lunenburg, MA. Students clearly enjoyed their session with the friendly camelids.

From sword play to hand-to-hand combat, Students in Kelly Morgan's Stage Movement: Combat course learned how to safely act out various forms of hand-to-hand combat in this mornings class. Stage movement: Combat is a workshop-oriented course that utilizes the basic techniques of movement that emphasize developing the student's potential for effective physicalization of a character on stage. Today, as in years past, members of the Fitchburg State University community joined other volunteers from local companies and organizations at the United Way of Central Massachusetts 27th Annual United Way Day of Caring. The Day of Caring brings together hundreds of volunteers in service projects to benefit local community groups and the clients the United Way serves, and make a difference through meaningful volunteer projects in greater Worcester area. #dayofcaring

Lisa Lane McCarty, Director of the Fitchburg State University Police Program, program staff, and the 5th Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course (ROC) held a walk-through for tomorrow morning's Police Program Graduation: 5th ROC. Expected at the ceremony are President Lapidus, local dignitaries, members of police departments from across Massachusetts, as well as proud family members.
