The Fitchburg State University Modern Jazz Band practicing in Weston Auditorium for tomorrow night's Music Mega-Mix. The performance will include instrumental and choral ensembles presenting a free concert at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, March 22 at Weston Auditorium, 353 North St. The Music Mega-Mix will showcase the Concert Band, Community Orchestra, Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, and Modern Jazz Band. Future Falcons joined us at an admitted student open house to see what their life at Fitchburg State could be. The admitted students were able to attend information sessions and get an in depth look at their academic department, talk with current students, have financial aid questions answered, and more. The morning was capped off with the Future Falcon Day Celebration at our Recreation Center. After a welcome from President Richard Lapidus, Future Falcons, their families and guests, were able to mingle with a multitude of departments and student groups. This panel also celebrated the birthday of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a lawyer, associate justice of the United States Supreme Court, and a mother who spent a lifetime flourishing in the face of adversity. Our Nursing Simulation Laboratory assists nursing students in learning critical thinking and clinical judgment skills in preparation for their healthcare careers. The “manikins” act as lifelike patient simulators, wherein instructors provide real-time feedback via a control center, giving students as close to a hospital scenario as possible.
