“The pedagogy helps us connect better with students, so that ‘at risk’ students are less ‘at risk,’ and more ‘at promise,’” said Professor Sean C. Goodlett from the university’s Economics, History and Political Science Department.

Saturday, May 14, 2022 was a perfect day for the 126th Annual Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony at Fitchburg State University. A BIG THANK YOU to all of our graduates, their friends & families, administration, staff , alumni, and faculty who all made the day a success. Future Falcons joined us at an admitted student open house to see what their life at Fitchburg State could be. The admitted students were able to attend information sessions and get an in depth look at their academic department, talk with current students, have financial aid questions answered, and more. The morning was capped off with the Future Falcon Day Celebration at our Recreation Center. After a welcome from President Richard Lapidus, Future Falcons, their families and guests, were able to mingle with a multitude of departments and student groups. MassBioEd was on Campus today for a High School Teacher Basic Biotechnology Skills & Equipment in Your Classroom program. Professors Ronald Krieser and Eric Williams assisted with the training.

It has been about 20 years since Pi Day, March 14th, has fallen on a class day here at Fitchburg State! In celebration, the Mathematics Department is hosted a 3.14 mile run. At 9:30 Dr. Peter Staab, and others, braved the chilly temperatures for the 3.14 mile run. After some directions from Gerry Higdon, they were off.

Later today, at 1:59pm, there will be Pi(e) Eating and other activities on the quad side of Edgerly Hall. Yes, the time is intentional… Think about it.

The campus celebrated Valentine's Day today at the Valentine's Day Benefit Luncheon in Hammond Hall. Proceeds from the luncheon will benefit the Student Emergency Fund.
