It was all hands on deck this morning for the Fitchburg State University Great Move In 2024. This morning our athletic teams, staff, University Police, students, and more were spread out between Check-In at the Wallace Civic Center, and the dormitories on the main campus, all in the effort of making our newest Falcons move in process as smooth as possible. The Great Move In will be  capped off with the Falcon Nest BBQ this afternoon.

After a morning of training sessions, Chief of University Police Michael Cloutier invited our Residents Assistants, and Housing and Residential Services staff, to tour University Police facilities. Along with lunch and meeting the University Police staff, students and staff got to try out equipment, see what it's like to perform a sobriety test with "drunk" goggles, and so much more!

Fitchburg State celebrated its 128th commencement exercises, graduate ceremony, on Thursday, May 16, 2024. The ceremony includes remarks from President Richard S. Lapidus as well as a speech by Master of Science in computer science recipient Ali Raza, the Spring 2024 recipient of the Graduate Student Leadership Award. This afternoon, on the last day of classes, the Office of Student Development set up a grill and gave away hot dogs to mark the day. Not to be outdone, Counseling Services offered ice cream sundaes, and the Office of Alumni and Development offered Add -Your-own -Flavors Lemonade.

In a gesture of camaraderie and fellowship, the university was honored to host the Graduation Exercises for the 33rd Recruit Officer Course of the Boylston Police Academy in Weston Auditorium. 

Faculty, staff, and local dignitaries gathered in the Hammond Main Lounge yesterday afternoon to celebrate the Presidency of Richard S. Lapidus.

This year's Visions, a juried honors exhibit of the Communications Media Department, opened with an Alumni Panel in the Ellis White White Lecture Hall. This lively discussion was followed by The Gallery Opening, Game Design Showcase, Reception, and a Film & Video Screening in Weston Auditorium. Thank you to the alumni, jurors, Communications Media faculty, students, and staff. The Exhibit will run until June 30, 2024. 

Yesterday afternoon, Psychological Science students were inducted into the Fitchburg State University Chapter of Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology in the Presidents Conference Room. Students must have least three semesters (45 credits) of college coursework, three semesters (45 credits) of college coursework, and least three courses (9 credits) in psychology at Fitchburg State University, including PSY 2100 Research Design and Analysis II. Students are eligible for induction if the following criteria are met:

This afternoon, we capped off our day of celebrating our student's scholarly achievements at our annual Honors Convocation. A reception in the Antonucci Science Complex followed.
