Today Fitchburg State University hosted 39 school counselors from the Boston Advising Corps. This group of counselors work with students in high schools in and around the Boston area. They learned about admissions, financial aid, and student success at the university from a co-curricular panel during their visit.

An all day event sponsored by Career Services and Commuter Affairs, the first 100 Commuters to receive a gift. In addition, ASCEND Get Lifted will be selling crystals and more by the Information Desk. Later today, there will be Tarot Card Readings, DIY Spirit Jars, and Aura Readings in the Falcon Hub on Street Level of the Hammond Building.

The campus celebrated Valentine's Day today at the Valentine's Day Benefit Luncheon in Hammond Hall. Proceeds from the luncheon will benefit the Student Emergency Fund.

Here, We Soar! Do you want to see how student Cameron Sousa soars?
Student Spotlight! Cameron Sousa of Hudson is majoring in Engineering Technology with a concentration in construction management.
Sousa has been the president of the university chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Chapter for the past year. This chapter is all about building relationships with industry professionals, getting knowledge and insight from experts, attending professional meetings and site visits, and exploring opportunities for internships and jobs. Students interested in joining should contact Cameron at csousa11@student.fitchburgstate.edu. As chapter president, his duties include running workshops and bringing employers to classes to speak.
He also tells Fitchburg State's story as part of the university's Hometown High program, in which he visits local high schools to talk about the construction management program with prospective students.

President Lapidus joined staff this morning at the North Street Bistro for the first of four Staff Appreciation events, also held simultaneously at the McKay Café. Staff were treated to a beverage, and a baked good, with their tickets entered into a prize raffle. The other appreciation dates are March 16, April 7, and May 4, 2022.
