Fitchburg State University Police Program  Interim Police Academy Director Alexandra Wysocki welcomed representatives from over twenty law enforcement agencies to the Hammond Main Lounge this afternoon for the  Career Services and Advising Center's Law Enforcement Reverse Career Fair. A reverse career fair flips the table, students stationed at tables get a chance to pitch themselves to employers, who in turn get quality one-on-one time with job seekers.

This afternoon, the Career Services and Advising Center and the Engineering Technology Department held a Lunch & Learn Engineering Technology Employer Roundtable event. Representatives from Bemis Associates, Consigli Construction, and The Massachusetts Department of Transportation were on hand to network with students in Conlon Hall. Networking events serve as an excellent opportunity for our students to connect with potential employers, learn about different career paths, and gain valuable insights into the current job market. 

The lure of a free taco at  yesterday afternoon's  Career Services and Advising (CSA) Let's Taco 'Bout Your Career Event was irresistible. In this unique way to get students to start thinking about their next steps, in exchange for creating and posting a career goal, students earned a free taco! 

Career Services and Advising (CSA) hosted an Internship Fair in the Hammond Main Hall this afternoon. The fair gave students the opportunity to meet an array of local businesses and services face-to-face to discuss internships and potential employment. 

Career Services and Advising (CSA) gave away free coffee, pumpkin treats, and tips to spice up your resume today on the first floor of Hammond Hall. You can still submit your updated resume, by October 3 at 5 p.m., for a chance to win a fabulous fall gift basket!

Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Patricia Marshall stopped into this afternoon's Career Services and Advising (CSA) New Transfer Student Meet-Up in the Welcome Center at our Admissions Office. This served as an opportunity to meet fellow transfer students, learn about Fitchburg State resources, and get any questions  answered.

Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Patricia Marshall, along with other Academic Affairs Leadership, took a break from day two of a two day New Faculty & Librarian Orientation - Promoting Faculty Success program, for a casual luncheon with the newest Fitchburg State University Faculty. After lunch Chief Michael Cloutier of the Fitchburg State University Police presented an overview of Campus Safety.

Earlier today, Career Services and Advising (CSA) held their Career Champions program, which connects and engages faculty and staff who are actively assisting students in determining and reaching their career goals. The content of the program focused on building knowledge of career development theories, learning strategies to incorporate career learning into practice and creating a plan for implementing these strategies.

For those who have ever wondered, "Should I get a master's degree?" They got the opportunity to find out at the School of Graduate, Online and Continuing Education Graduate Fair this afternoon in Hammond Hall, Main Lounge. Those interested were able to ask questions about graduate programs and meet with representatives from Fitchburg State University as well as ten other local universities. Yesterday afternoon, the Fitchburg State University Career Services and Advising Center sponsored a Campus Wide Career Fair in the Athletics and Recreation Center. This fair, with over 50 local businesses in attendance, was for students from all majors and all class years.
