Head Football Coach Scott Sperone invited Director of Counseling Services/Assistant Dean, Student Affairs Dr. Robert Hynes to speak with the players at this morning's team meeting. After introducing new team members, and letting the team know that he calls the games and is the "Voice of the Falcons", Dr. Hynes and told the players about the services available to them through the Counseling Services Center.

Fitchburg State University Athletics Head Strength & Conditioning Coach David Jenkerson Jr. ran members of the Fitchburg State Football Team through a warm up & workout this morning at the Carmelita Landry Fitness Center. Fitchburg State University held its eighth annual National Collegiate Athlete Honor Society (NCAHS) induction ceremony on Monday, with 36 student-athletes being recognized for their academic achievements.

The National College Athlete Honor Society was founded at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. on May 17, 1996, as a student-athlete honor society for the recognition of high academic achievers and sport letter-winners as the collegiate level.

There are 269 chapters of the NCAHS, Chi Alpha Sigma across the country with Fitchburg State University designated as the Sigma Chapter of the Chi Alpha Sigma.

Future Falcons joined us at an admitted student open house to see what their life at Fitchburg State could be. The admitted students were able to attend information sessions and get an in depth look at their academic department, talk with current students, have financial aid questions answered, and more. The morning was capped off with the Future Falcon Day Celebration at our Recreation Center. After a welcome from President Richard Lapidus, Future Falcons, their families and guests, were able to mingle with a multitude of departments and student groups.
