The Fitchburg State University Center for Professional Studies' Advanced Placement Summer Institutes (APSI) first week is in full swing. In the AP Biology track, High School Teachers are conducting a week full of experiments to bring back to their classrooms. The APSI are designed to support all aspects of AP courses, including AP methodology, curriculum, class assignments and examinations as well as providing strategies for teaching AP courses. This experiment involved pill bugs.

University Police Chief Michael Cloutier presided over a promotion ceremony, as Officer Dylan Soldi was officially promoted to the rank of Sergeant and Officer Michael Chesson was officially promoted to the rank of Detective.

Studio sessions facilitate the creation of valuable curricula through corresponding art making.

Students in the 8th Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course (ROC) broke into pairs to investigate domestic violence cases with the aid of local law enforcement personnel to play the role of victim, and friend of the victim, while other officers observed and debriefed the students on their given scenario.

Lieutenant Michael Gelinas Fitchburg Fire Department (FFD) discussed the roles of the Fire Department, Police Department, and EMS at an emergency with the 8th Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course (ROC).

After domestic violence response class, The 8th Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course (ROC)  Instructors Maura Landry, MPTC Domestic Violence State Coordinator and Chief Williams of the East Longmeadow Police Department moved on to sexual assault response training.

The Amelia V. Gallucci-Cirio Library Outreach Librarian for Student Success Lori Steckervetz presented Creating Research Questions as part of yesterday's Commonwealth Honors - Honors Research Seminar Workshop as a way to spark conversation about transitioning students to their research question.
