Yesterday afternoon at the Hammond Hall Art Gallery, Artist Ricardo Barros discussed his artistic process at the opening of his show “An Entanglement of Space and Time.” The inspiring 360-degree panoramic work of Barros is the first art exhibition of the academic year. surprised Assistant Dean of Enrollment Peter August for his birthday with a Dress Like Petr Day! Staff donned beards, suspenders, and bracelets to copy Peter's distinctive look. The also carried the ever-present mug of tea and a book to pay tribute to the published author.

Constitution Day 2025 - Keynote Address

Fitchburg State University is marking Constitution Day 2025 with a week full of events organized by the General Education Program co-sponsored with the Office of Student Engagement and the Student Government Association. Wednesday It continued with the Keynote Address. After an introduction by Assistant Professor Eileen Kirk of our Criminal Justice Program Justice David J. Breen, and Justice Lisa Ann Grant discussed Due Process and the Rule of Law.

Around Campus - Medical Microbiology Lab

Students in Biology and Chemistry Professor Dr. Sean Rollins' Medical Microbiology course performed various procedures in their lab in the Antonucci Science Complex. The course serves as an introduction to the biology of major groups of micro-organisms including bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and fungi. Emphasis is placed on their relationship to man as agents of infectious diseases. In the laboratory principles and practices of aseptic techniques and diagnostic identification and culture of disease entities are explored.

Around Campus - Intermediate Digital Cinema Production

Students in Communications Media's Professor Charles Roberts' Intermediate Digital Cinema Production course work on an editing project. Intermediate Digitals Cinema Production covers professional production techniques used in modern narrative production environments. In addition to achieving competency in lighting, exposure, composition and framing with video cameras, students master the basics of audio production both on location and in studio environments and the editing of the dramatic narrative.
