Fitchburg State University Police Program ROC 6 - Defensive Training 8

At a last week's “Defensive Training Friday”, the 6th Fitchburg State University Police Program's   Recruit Officer Course (ROC). They learned how to handle the escalation of hand-to-hand confrontation. They have now had over 70 hours of De-escalation/Use of Force training. This Friday is their practical test out where they must demonstrate proficiency in a series of skills in order to pass. Good luck to all the recruits!

Center for Professional Studies' Advanced Placement Summer Institutes (APSI) - AP US Government & Politics

Fitchburg State University Upward Bound Summer Program - Community Service After Party

Yesterday, Fitchburg State University's Upward Bound  Math and Science Summer Program students took part in community service as part of their Day of Service. Groups cleaned up the areas around Fitchburg's iconic Monument Park, Fitchburg's Senior Center, Fitchburg Rail Trail, Leominster Senior Center, and the Leominster Rail Trail. Afterward they enjoyed lunch and a host of activities at another iconic location in Fitchburg; Saima Park.

Fitchburg State University Upward Bound Summer Program - Community Service

Today, Fitchburg State University's Upward Bound  Math and Science Summer Program students took part in community service as part of their Day of Service. This group was located at Fitchburg's iconic Monument Park, as well as the nearby Fitchburg Senior Center. Other groups performed their service at Fitchburg Rail Trail, Leominster Senior Center, and the Leominster Rail Trail. It won't be all work, the service will be followed by a a lunch and  fun activities afterward.

The Fitchburg State University Center for Professional StudiesAdvanced Placement Summer Institutes (APSI) first week is in full swing. In the AP Biology track, High School Teachers are conducting a week long transpiration experiment. The APSI are designed to support all aspects of AP courses, including AP methodology, curriculum, class assignments and examinations as well as providing strategies for teaching AP courses.

Fitchburg State University Upward Bound Summer Program - Trip to Grove Pond

Today, Fitchburg State University's Upward Bound  Math and Science Summer Program students took a trip to Grove Pond in Ayer, MA to lend a hand to PACE (People of Ayer Concerned about the Environment) with their Water Chestnut Pull at Grove Pond. This annual program enlists the public's help to pull out invasive water chestnuts from the pond as well as the Nashua River Watershed.
