Award winning Communications Media student Isaiah Manuel turned a Multi-Camera Television Production course into a Production Assistant position at Fitchburg Access Television (FATV). The course, taught by Professor Kevin McCarthy in conjunction with Fitchburg Access Television (FATV) during the Fall 2023, gave Isaiah the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in what it's like to produce a talk show. He, and other students, switched between various roles including control room operations (teleprompters, broadcast switchers, digital audio boards and lighting control panels), and studio roles (floor direction, camera operation, studio lighting, studio sound techniques).
Isaiah frequently volunteered at FATV during the Fall 2023 school semester, helping with events such as political debates, studio shows, and sports events before being hired as a production assistant in January 2024. He continues to expand his skillset while at FATV, and is currently training to produce/direct legislative meeting broadcasts for the City of Fitchburg’s legislative meetings. Isaiah’s favorite assignments for FATV include camera operation as well as directing and technical directing broadcast
As a part of the FATV team, Isaiah recently recorded & produced Wallace Tower Celebration: Celebrating a 22 million dollar grant for the transformation of Wallace Tower into a modern aging in place community.
