Students in Exercise and Sports Science Professor Monica Maldari's Exercise Testing and Prescription reconnect at the beginning of class in Thompson Hall. The course provides theory and practice for evaluating and prescribing exercise for the enhancement of the functional capacity of the cardiopulmonary, metabolic and musculoskeletal systems in health and disease. Topics include review of scientific bases for testing and prescription, human behavior and motivation, basic electrocardiology, risk factors in exercise and exercise testing, health appraisal and fitness testing, exercise programming, nutrition and weight management and program administration.

Yesterday afternoon, Student Engagement held its annual Rock the Hall in Hammond Hall. Rock the Hall gives students the opportunity to connect with student Clubs and  Organizations here on campus.

This afternoon, Fitchburg State University Military and Veteran Services Director Nolan Buck hosted an Open House/Meet and Greet event  in our  Veteran Center. This gave  our veteran students the opportunity  to gather for coffee, a snack & camaraderie. In addition, these students had the chance to discuss the unique concerns of veteran students.

Theater Professor Kelly Morgan teaches students how to utilize the sword as an extension of the character and a a vehicle by which the actor propels the story in his
Advanced Stage Movement course in Weston Auditorium. The finger will soon be replaced with a sword, after all, this is day one. This workshop-oriented course utilizes the basis techniques of movement with emphasis on developing each student's potential for effective physicalization of a character on stage.

Last nights storm left a few inches of snow on campus, making our campus a wonderland.

In addition to the Keynote Speaker and information sessions at yesterdays Campuswide Development Day, a Relaxation Lounge was available throughout the day. Community members got the opportunity to experience 15 minutes of complete relaxation in state of the art chairs. calm their mind and heal your body with a 16 aromatherapy scents oxygen bar. and relax with the chi machine.

With President Donna Hodge at the NCAA conference in Washington, DC, Vice President of Personnel Services and General Counsel Stacey Luster hosted our inaugural Campuswide Development Day. Although off-campus, President Hodge gave welcome remarks via video.

Director of International Education Nelly Wadsworth, and Assistant Director of Study Abroad Nicole Salerno welcomed this semester's cohort of International students at their orientation in the Hammond Main Lounge. Students took part in some ice-breaker exercises and a panel discussion  before a day full of information sessions.

Associate Director of Student Engagement and Campus Center Angelo M. Prevosto, Coordinator of Programming and Student Engagement Julia Tardugno, Graduate Assistant for Programming Mallory Judkins and our Orientation Leaders wrapped up yesterday's Winter Orientation session in the Falcon Hub. This gave an opportunity to share some last minute information, and Fitchburg State swag. In addition, the day coincided wit our Falcon Assist Week to  make sure all questions were answered before their departure.
