University Hosts Gateway Cities Legislative Caucus

Fitchburg State university served as host for  State Senator John Cronin's Gateway Cities Legislative Caucus. After touring some key local initiatives in the area, Senator Cronin welcomed various State Legislators, and local stakeholders to speak about their endeavors to enhance the quality of life in the area.

Summer Orientation 2025 - Session 2, Course Registration

Summer Orientation 2025 - Session 2, Family & Friends Sessions

While their students are off on their own Fitchburg State University, families and friends have their own schedule designed with activities and information sessions specifically for them. One session, hosted by Dean of Students Timothy St. John and Director of Counseling Services Robert Hynes, Ph.D., LMHC, parents and families learned of the many support services for their students. In another session, Lt. Andrew Lamarche of the Fitchburg State University Police discussed campus safety - comfort-dog-in-training Zara was a big hit.

Summer Orientation 2025 - Session 2, Welcome to Fitchburg State University

We are excited to welcome our Incoming students for the second of three sessions of our Summer Orientation 2025 this morning. After ID photos and some general "housekeeping", our newest Falcons made their way to Weston Auditorium where they received boisterous welcome remarks from Student Development Dean of Students Timothy St. John. Assistant Director of Student Development  Angelo M. Prevosto introduced of our Orientation Leaders who will guide then through a day full of information sessions and activities.

Fitchburg State University Police Program 8th ROC - Report Writing

Drill Instructor Lt. John Boucher of the Ashburnham Police Department donned a suit and took on a new role as Instructor for the Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course (ROC) Report Writing course. Lt. Boucher was assisted by Sgt. Liana Teague of the Fitchburg Police Department. Report writing is a crucial skill in a law enforcement professionals "toolkit."

University Hosts Fitchburg Public School Brunch

This morning, Fitchburg State University hosted the Fourth Annual Fitchburg Public School brunch in Hammond Hall's Main Lounge. This event serves as an opportunity to engage with Superintendent, Mr. Jonnathan Thompson,  Assistant Superintendent, Ms. Glenda Colón, staff members an various community stakeholders all in an effort to explore ways to strengthen partnerships, build new connections, and support the success of students, families, and the broader community.

Fitchburg State University Police Program 8th ROC - Interview Scenarios

After coursework in Interviews and Interrogations techniques from Criminal Justice Professor Michael S. McCutcheon, students in the Fitchburg State University Police Program's Recruit Officer Course (ROC) put their new skills into action. Professor McCutcheon enlisted the aid of local law enforcement personnel to play the role of victim, while other officers observed and debriefed the students on their given scenario. This scenario involved motor vehicle vandalism.

Summer Orientation 2025 - Session 1, Falcon's Choice

Part of our Summer Orientation 2025 allows our newest students to pick their adventure among the many choices are Fitchburg in the Arts, and taking part in a Service Project. 

Fitchburg in the Arts; Fine Art Program Professor Andrea Olmstead walked students through expectations while Director for our Creative Arts Therapies Amy McGlothlin and Director for our Creative Arts Enterprise Jonathan Harvey - with help from current students in our many bands and choirs - held an abridged percussion and singing clinic. English Studies Professor DeMisty Bellinger-Delfeld discussed our Creative Writing Programs.
Service Project; Students put together hygiene & laundry kits for our Falcon Bazaar.
