Students in Theater Professor Mary Vreeland's Stage Movement course hone their powers of observation as the observe a classmates movements. This workshop-oriented course utilizes the basis techniques of movement with emphasis on developing each student's potential for effective physicalization of a character on stage.

Students in Professor Michael S. McCutcheon's Criminal Investigation course got to try their hands at fingerprint collecting. After leaving their own fingerprints on various surface types, the students dusted, and lifted the prints using situation/surface specific methodologies. The course will enables the student to understand the fundamentals of the criminal investigation process. They will explore investigative techniques in crime scene search, collection and use of evidence and information. Students in Communication Media Professor Kevin McCarthy's Audio Production for Film and Video elective familiarized themselves with the equipment they will be using this semester. Audio Production for Film & Video is a specialized elective that covers audio acquisition for field and studio production. The course places emphasis on developing best practices for production audio recording in both scripted and unscripted production environments. Students will strengthen techniques in recording dialogue, Sound Effects, Foley, and Voiceover – and apply these skillsets creatively in course projects. By the end of the course, the student will be able to capture the highest quality audio for integration into film or video productions.

This morning, as part of our continuing effort to support our veteran students, Dean of Student Affairs Timothy St. John. and Fitchburg State University Military and Veteran Services Director Nolan Buck hosted Worcester County Veterans Services Organization Meet & Greet to share services for and learn mor about what services are available to veterans. Representatives from VeteransInc, Project New Hope, Habitat for Humanity, Office of the Veteran Advocate (OVA) , and MassHire presented their veteran-centric services.

Students in Communications Media Professor M. Zachary Lee's Cinematography course work to properly light a sample scene in the TV Studio. Cinematography is a specialized elective that provides an immersive study of the technical and aesthetic elements of motion picture photography. Topics include film stocks, imaging sensors, focus theory, laboratories, lenses, RAW workflows, lighting, cameras, composition, continuity, color and special processes.

Students in Andrea Olmstead's Drawing class us the stippling technique to draw animals. The stippling drawing technique involves repeatedly pressing the tip of a pen against a surface to create a textured effect using tiny dots, building up and tone to achieve gradients, texture, and depth.
