Students in Engineering Technology Professor Ana Mesquita-Emlinger Sustainable Building Design I course build light wood construction prototypes.
The foundational course focuses on residential architectural systems and single-family dwellings, challenging students to develop site-specific solutions using modern digital modeling tools. Beyond structural components, the curriculum incorporates critical industry requirements, including life-safety codes, municipal building regulations, and sustainable design frameworks.
By pairing theoretical regulatory knowledge with tactile prototype construction, our Engineering Technology program equips students with directly transferable skills for the modern AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industries.
