Around Campus - Intro to Life Science Lab

Posted by Andy Cunningham on February 3, 2026 at 12:44 PM

Students in Biology and Chemistry Professor Dr. Erin Rehrig's Intro to Life Science lab created a "naked" egg with a soaking in vinegar. After recording the mass, they are on their way to creating a "bouncy" egg in a sugar solution.

The course focuses on the scientific study of living organisms, including plants, animals and microorganisms. Content includes understanding the function of cells, basic mechanisms of genetics and evolution, the chemicals required to support life and major classes of biological molecules.
