Communications Media Graphic Design Professor Donald Tarallo reviews student's designs with them in his Font Design course. In this course students design an uppercase sans serif font. Students will learn traditional letterform proportions, foundation concepts in font design, and the unique aspects of letterform design for optimal screen-reading. The final font will be presented in a poster design that explains the background research and design rationale. Lectures on the history of typography and experimental typography augment the course.
